ok so i'll post some art soon i promise. beal is pretty cool, it's really laid back and easy so far.

i saw the last kiss last night, and it was kind of disappointing. i liked the writing, and music, and some of the scenes are really realistic, but some of the acting was dreadful, mostly from the female portion of the cast. the worst was rachel bilson. i reccomend it, but just don't go with high expectations, or you'll be disappointed. and remember, it's a paul haggis movie, so it's gonna be depressing.

if you take a gander at the time of this post you'll notice that it's somewhere close to 6:30 in the morning on saturday the 5th. no, i did not wake up extra early just so i could make a post on my widely popular livejournal site, I am merely still awake.
After a rather busy day at work, myself, phuc, kyle decided to take the 25 minute drive to Sharon's creek to meet geoff and some others. we call up geoff and discover he is leaving sharon's creek, before we even get there, cuz he's "bored". understandable. SO phuc kyle and i arrive, and walk around the conservation area a little bit before deciding to head back to the car, and just go back to kyle's for the night. When we arrive at the car we are confronted with the surreal scene of kyle's passenger window smashed in, glass everywhere, and phuc's guitar, which i was playing on the way there, gone. the three of us were awestruck, and feelings were mixed, but one thing was agreed, that some poeple are just unfathomabely pathetic. we cleaned the car as thorouglhy as we could, and made the short, albeit windy, trip back to the forest city where we spent the next 45 minutes at a self-serve car wash, vaccumming the interior of the crime scene. we then grabbed a bite at prince al's, and went back to kyle's to drown our losses in beer and conversation.
an insurance report will be filed tomorrow...or today, but for now, i need to sleep, and maybe the very little of what's left of my buzz will ware off.
work tomorrow.
life's life.
and i'm crushing on a ghost.

blah-de-blah-de blah. this summer has been crushingly boring. between work, and trying to find something to do, i have to admit there's very little to actually look forward to. where are all the parties?
Kyle and I rented the movie The Chumscrubber last week and it's very very good. it's an interesting film about about the families living monotonous unfulfilling lives in the suburbs, but more importantly, the young adults desperateley trying to escape the over exxagerated personalities of their parents, through happy pills. The movie is extrememy well written, which is supported by magnificent preformances of an all-star cast. i haven't seen a cult film this good since Donnie Darko (even though Donnie Darko is still the best). plus it has a pretty alright soundtrack.

I wish i had more art to post, but i'm too lazy right now.

anybody who got suckered into buying one of those promotional "Star 102.3" bumper stickers, and then actually put it on their car, is really dumb. if you happen to be one of those people, i pity you. i saw one today that looked like someone tried way too hard to peel it off, with little success.
silly person. don't you know that it is now plastered onto your vehicle forever? even after the world ends and there isn't a soul left alive to see what a stupid thing you've done, that sticker will still be tatooed to your bumper.
this is my advice to all future dummies: never ever put anything on your car unless you're sure that the message it portrays will NEVER change. this is valuable wisdom. so the next time a corporate radio station says they'll give you a prize if you stick their logo onto your back windsheild, don't be fooled, because chances are, that radio station will have changed everything about it within two years of luring unsuspected automobile owners into advertising for them.

so i recently got yet another Douglas Coupland novel, Girlfrind in a Coma, and it's obviously amazing. i'm so stumped about how this stuff comes out of his head. it seems almost supernatural.
the book is about a girl named Karen who suddenly one night, as a teenager in 1979, slips into a coma for seventeen years. the rest of the story revolves around the ever-changing lives of her circle of friends, and her boyfriend Richard, the story's protagonist.
As per usual with Coupland's prophetic writing, i've been rethinking certain aspects of my life, and assessing where i'm at right now. and also, not actually applying any new knowledge to my overall personality. but oh well, the book says that researchers have learned that no matter how hard you tried, the most you could possibly change your personality--your self--was five percent. c'est la vie.
